Katy Ware is Director of Regulatory Affairs at Zodiac Maritime, a UK shipping company headquartered in London with one of the world’s largest and most diverse fleets. In this role, she advises Zodiac Maritime’s Executive leadership on strategic & emerging regulatory developments, with a particular focus on translating complex policy developments into practical strategic direction for the business.
Before joining Zodiac Maritime, Katy held several senior roles in the maritime sector, including serving as the UK Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO). In that capacity, she represented the UK in high-level negotiations on maritime safety, environmental regulation, and global standards, and built a strong reputation for working effectively across government, international institutions, and commercial shipping.
She also served as Director of UK Maritime Services at the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) from 2016 to 2024, where she led transformation initiatives that strengthened regulatory frameworks, supported crew welfare, and advanced safety and sustainability across the sector.
