Claire Wright is Managing Director of Hanwha Ocean Europe, where she leads the European teams and operations for Hanwha’s marine businesses covering newbuilds, retrofits, engines, and new technology deployments.
Hanwha is a South Korean multinational group delivering advanced solutions across shipping, energy, aerospace, defence, and industrial systems, with a growing global leadership in sustainable and maritime technologies.
Prior to joining Hanwha, Claire spent a decade at Shell, where she led the Commercial Shipping & Strategy team. She has extensive expertise in newbuild projects, long-term chartering, vessel acquisition and divestment, as well as the deployment and commercialization of new fuels and technologies. This includes the first deployments of LNG as a fuel, hydrogen as cargo, and LCO2 carriers. Claire began her career with Maersk.
