Andy Cooper

Managing Director, Power Conversion & Storage Solutions, GE Vernova

Andy Cooper is the Managing Director of GE Power Conversion UK Ltd, headquartered in Rugby. He is also the Global Marine leader for GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business.

Andy joined the company when it was GEC Electrical Projects Ltd in 1984 through an apprenticeship programme. In 2024 he served 40 years with the business, a time encompassing its ownership by GEC, Cegelec, Alstom and Converteam before the acquisition by GE in 2012.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the Maritime sector, including shipbuilding and after-sales service across naval and commercial fleets, and has worked extensively with major shipyards and vessel owners around the world. This includes particular experience in maritime industries operating in the energy sector.

In 2026 Andy was awarded an MBE in The King’s birthday honours list.
