London International Shipping Week is proud to be joining forces with the OSCAR Campaign for the 2027 OSCAR Dragon Boat Race—an uplifting occasion that brings the maritime community together in support of an immensely worthwhile cause.
Taking place on the Thursday before LISW27 officially begins (Thursday 9 September 2027), the race will launch four days of charitable and community-focused events. It will demonstrate LISW27’s commitment to supporting charities connected with the maritime sector and to harnessing the generosity of our industry to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others.
The Dragon Boat Race will be followed by the LISW27 Golf Day at Woburn Golf Club on Friday 10 September and the LISW27 Padel Tournament on Sunday 12 September.
The annual OSCAR Dragon Boat Race has already raised more than £2.75 million towards the OSCAR Campaign’s remarkable fundraising total of £3.85 million. In 2027, LISW is delighted to help build upon that wonderful achievement by bringing even more people from across the international shipping community together in friendship, generosity and shared purpose.
During the event, 30 teams will take to the water, with the six fastest progressing to an exciting grand final. Alongside the racing, there will be food and refreshments, quayside games and activities, and a DJ creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The event offers a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships, make new connections and enjoy some friendly competition. Above all, it is a chance to come together as an industry and raise vital funds for a cause that has touched and helped so many lives.
No previous experience or special training is required—just enthusiasm, team spirit and a willingness to support an exceptional cause.
